So, thought it was about time I condensed my progress into a thread...

Since ive got a 8v 1.4 lump I decided there was NO point in attempting to get any more power so I went down the handling route.

First off was new suspension and Weitec HICON GTN's were the order:

Rear.

And Afterwards.

Next up was a set of 15mm Eibach spacers off Bill for the back:

After.

Not a hugely noticable difference from the pictures I know, but they do look better on and it handles a little better too.

They definately felt alot nicer on the car, alot more grip and considerably quieter too!

Then I got myself a MOMO Seat Sport Front Upper Strut Brace from the stealers. :D

The Nearside front wing had a big dint which came free with the car as in the picture below:

Got that pulled out and reprayed last week along with some deep scratches on the bumper and also cut some sections out of the grey plastic bumper extension and got that colour coded

Cheers pal, i think they look good, subtle but make it look meaner at the same time.
There done just in cheap black spray paint and some laquer atm but i'll be doing them body colour with the little metalic flakes in next week so they should look alot smarter.

Hey James. Thats a good looking car! Like how you've done the front bumper. Did you do it yourself? Oh, and the strut brace, how much was it, if you don't mind me asking, and does it make much difference? Ta mate, All black is a very good way to go!

Cheers pal, i cut the sections and prepped it myself and a mate of mine did the paint for me. im really pleased with it actually, just need an LCR splitter to finish it off.

The strut brace was just under £50 i think from the dealer as i got 10% off the rrp. it makes a bit of difference yeah makes it much stiffer. probably more from standard as i alread had coilovers on.

Reading you were thinking about a CAI, ive got one on mine! :D

Yeah, I was thinking about it, got any pictures of yours? Did you read my 'Bored!!!' thread then? :p

Do you really think it needs a splitter on the front? The mk3 front end looks quite nice low to the ground as it is. As for the strut brace, I'm sorely tempted, if it's not that much and can make a difference, would be nice to have some stiffness on a very soggy ride :p How are the HID's?

Aye indeed i did, i need to update this thread so I'll get some up on here of it maybe tonight. Mine just comes from the cutout in my bumper and is jubilee clipped straight into the airbox and i'll put some green panel filters in when i service it next month :)

Yeah, the brace is a good mod and isn't that bank breaking! I'd reccomend some better suspension though! :D

HIDs are top notch (cheers nafe) cant wait until it gets dark

I got it from a member on here second hand, nice and cheap :D
i think he got it from a shop in the uk, not an ebay one or anything.

Yep I have a high beam, but its only halogen. Theres 2 bulbs on it, one hid bulb and the halogen high beam. I get people flashing at me all the time when Im on low beam (HID)

So is your high beam a seperate bulb or just the one?
Yeah i can imagine, i havent driven in the dark with them yet but im expecting some flashing! ill just give them a taste of HID high beam! :cartman:
