Hi,

I suffer from a creaking/banging noise from the rear of the car when going over bumps etc, but seem's better when driving in the wet.
Could this be a creaking suspension, checked all of the trim etc inside.

Would a visit to stealers be on order? has anyone had anything like this? Running out of idea's and it is driving me mad!!!

Thanks

Paul....

I had a rattle / knocking sound when going over bumps.
Sounded like it was coming from rear passenger side suspension.

I read a post on here by flashp which suggested it could be caused by rear door catch.

I adjusted the rear passenger door catch and it went away.

You will need a T40 Torx driver

Thanks,

Will have a look at rear door catch on sunday.

Got it booked in at Stealers next week still think it's bushes or anti roll bar though.

Cheers

How exactly do you tighten up the rear doors?

Do you move the silver bar attatched to the body? Mine rattles, and the rubber seal on the top of the door creeks / squeaks.

Cheers.

Use a T40 Torx Driver to loosen the 2 screws on the silver bar.
Push the silver bar in towards the car.
Re-tighten the screws.
Ensure that the door closes securely.
Re-adjust if necessary.

I know this is an old thread but I felt the need to post as it's cured a problem I was having a hard time solving. I did try searching the forum before but only stumbled upon this page after googling 'leon mk2 squeaking door'.

Ordered the m8 spline piece from ebay, arrived this morning, took me all of a minute to adjust the screws on the passenger door and voila, no more squeaking!

Could you please post a pic of the part that was re adjusted, mate?

Cheers in advance.

I've got a bump coming from the rear of my car. It sounds like it's the parcel shelf not clipped in and bouncing when going over a bump. I've checked the parcel shelf and it's solid and clipped in ok. Could this be the rear door latch? If not has anyone else had this type of noise when going over a bump?

Cheers

Alex

Hard to tell, if you're describing it as a bump I wouldn't think it's the same problem I had, but an m8 spline piece is about £1.50 on ebay so it's pretty cheap to try on the off chance it is.
