Don't take any rubbish from the dealers.

SEAT Customer Services called me re my issue I have logged, SEAT Technical DO HAVE an official fix for this and my car is in on Tuesday for the fix and the 10K service. Like I said, my car is 11 months old, had this problem from day 1, SEAT are paying for the service as I asked for some form of compensation.

The guy at SEAT Customer Services was called Ashley, he kept in touch with me and the dealers, rang me to confirm the fix, then he rang the dealers as well to let them know.

Try again with Customer services, they should hopefully point your dealer in the right direction.

Hi All

Just spoke to Seat Customer Services. There is an offical fix for this now from ther Technical Dept. The only problem is the car has to go the the dealer be diagnosed by them, then they have to order the parts, wait for the bits to arrive, then fit them. It should onlt take a couple of days to fix.

My rant is it's 50 mile round trip to my dealer. So it's costing me miles & my time just to get it diaognosed & then take it back to get it fixed. Is this rite ????????

moan to seat uk and ask for compo, i got £300 and a free service due to the miles and my own time (ie having to take time off work) i was racking up.

My old dealer investigated the wet window problem for me, in the bright summer sun and without any water involved and said they couldnt see the problem, hmmm, im not sure, but ...... thats the point i flipped and started speaking with trading standards about my issues.

Will somebody post up Customer services number, i have rumaged through everywhere and not found it!
Am going to ring the dealer in a minute and find out what is going on with getting my car in, no phone calls back or anything!

i did come across another number, not that one though! thanks.

Rang Dealer, apparently there is no Technical fix on the system for this! So take it in again to re-diagnos the situation!! Getting P*ssed off now!

Yes, that is the trouble I guess. My windows don't go wet everytime it rains and the weird thing is that when it has been pelting it down, sometimes they are OK and then another time when it has been light drizzle, they're sodden.

Ceratainly want rid of the problem going into winter that is for sure.

I just go off the phone to Customer services, they rang me back regarding the wet windows problem and said for the garage to contact Seat Technical directly for advice as it is a KNOWN problem with Seat and they will advise of a fix! So take no lies from the dealer when they say there is no problem!

I picked up my car yesterday after the fix had been applied. The car had been washed, no leaks on the inside of the windows!!

A few more washes due, then I've to let the dealer know if all is OK so they can reply back to SEAT.

So far so good.

Trapper.

Technical sent through info/photos of what was required to the dealer.

From memory, dealer said that currently there is the outer door seal and an inner seal inside the door. This inner seal has a 'lip' at the top of it. What they believe is that sometimes this lip is rubbing against the inside of the window making it wet. The fix was to modify this inner seal to remove the lip.

I think that is about it. I'm going to let them know how it goes, it was OK last night, just hope that is the end of the problem.

Geting mine back this evening, so fingers crossed here too. Do you think it is unreasinable to ask for some sort of compo as 4 trips (included for other work to be done wich wasnt along with the windows) to have nothing actually done or contact with seat uk from the dealer to ask about the problem! totaled up to 1.5days time off work traveling up and down!

go for it,. i did, got £300 and a free service!!

Well the car was out in the torrential rain yesterday, no wet windows so far! The fix looks like it's worked.

"Fix" has been applied to rears and front windows, drenched car and let them waash it to see if there was any when picking it up, all dry and been in rain and washed sinced and still dry!

Were your rears getting wet on the inside as well or was the fix to stop so much water getting in in the first place?

My rear doors can certalinly collect water but it never dawned on me until last week so see if the windows were wet on the inside - they weren't at that time.

They were wet around the middle portion of the window, nothing major and nothing as bad as the front. But saying as they f**ked me about i said i wanted them done too just because it would give them more hassle to do it and maybe they may learn to just fix it as i wasnt going away!! just noticed it one time that rears were streaky!

did any of you guys get more details about what the fix is?

Did they change any parts? Did they fill up the door with silicone?

just wondering...
