Drove to Brighton today for a weekends fishing.
Parked in Brighton marina multi storey carpark.

Front splitter hit the ground at the bottom of the ramps between each floor.
Pulled into the travelodge carpark, hit the splitter on a curb ?.
Amazingly its still on there. Will check for damage when the rain stops.

Oh, and drove up a bus lane, stopped, reversed back onto a main road. So will be waiting for the brown envelope through the door in the next week or so.

Not been a great day carwise.

Depends on where you were, but we only have bus lane cameras in a couple of parts of town and some of those only came in the past couple of months, so there's probably a grace period.

Is the dog bone made from ally?
Yes, they all are. They regularly suffer with galvanic corrosion where the steel bolts passes through the aluminium mount body.
Only this past Friday I had a bolt head shear off due to this reaction.
Once the mount is prised off the stub if bolt left over you can quite often unwind them from the subframe thread by hand.
I've done loads like this over the years.

Me again. Did the 02M shim mod, what a big difference a little shim can make. Well recommended, my bearing had loads of play in it too.

Hi Connor, im looking at making this fix this week, any chance you have the part number for this shim?

From my research its the WHT-001-976 which is available from ebay for around £20.

How much did you pay for your o2m shim.

Thanks

Well i fitted a new arm rest as the old one had collapsed, also got my cigarette lighter working with the ignition and fitted a glove box trim. Happy they were all inside jobs as it was cold one.
