Hi Connor, im looking at making this fix this week, any chance you have the part number for this shim?

From my research its the WHT-001-976 which is available from ebay for around £20.

How much did you pay for your o2m shim.

Thanks

Mate what does this do

Stops play in one of the axial bearings in the gearbox, although I’d need an expert to really explain it. I was/am getting a whine on deccel so figured I’d do that.

Hey bud,

This is the one i bought:

What about the end cap though, they're one time use and have to be replaced each time they're removed.
Usually the shim is sold with the cap for this very reason.

I'm pretty sure I have a spare new in packet cap if you want me to dig it out?

As everyone else said I forgot to mention that that one doesn’t come with the cap, and I bought it separately. But should give you an idea on the washer to get

Got my extractor and centre punch kit in prep to remove the broken steering rack to subframe bolts.

Question for those in the know, are the subframe (non rack ones) bolts also stretch bolts that need replacing? I have the new rack bolts ready to go in

The bolt kit for the subframe is 40 quid tho

Yes subframe bolts are torque to yield/ stretch type, as are the 4 steering rack bolts and 4 dogbone mount bolts.
I replaced everything when I refurbished my subframe and rack for peace of mine.
