my dilemma for the last year lol

working from home has been a god send

I've kept an eye out for Cupra Rs on eBay, but lucky for me they don't come up much unless they're being broken. To be honest I like the efficiency and fuel consumption of my diesel but always feel like I'm missing out on something.

With all the money I've sunk into my FR though, the missus would destroy me if I bought another Leon and not the Transporter I'd been talking about building into a camper.

Dont feel like your missing out bud.
The diesel is way more torquier.
I miss my cupra D. Had the 150 and got it remapped to 180hp. Could pull a house down.

I bought my R last February. The thing with it is, it doesn't really start to get lairy untill its past 2.5k rpm and in reality thats when you normally change gear.
Id does go absolutely ape sh!t above 3k lol but in normal use, it doesnt happen when popping to the shops if you know what i mean.

Id have another Cupra d in a heatbeat.

That's a relief... The torque in the TDI is what I've really come to love - pulls in pretty much any gear... I've not driven anything petrol in years but given how busy the roads are these days, handling is what does it for me - hence the current obsession with bushes.

I'll have to borrow someone's Cupra sometime though - you know, for research...

If Manic does the meet up I'll take you out in my TDI, see if the handling suits your taste (just got to refit the lower strut brace, change the upper strut brace n refresh the top mounts)

Just about to do my top mount bushes and bearings - if the lockdown carries on like this, I'll have finally got round to the control arm bushes, steering rack and dogbone mount by the time everyone can get together.

Would definitely be good to hear how different things affect handling - you can spend a fortune and still not get things just right.

For a few years in the evenings i spent my miss spent youth at Gadebridge park carpark 😁.
