I mean things have moved on, it could be charge a membership fee, keep a card and ID on file, sign lots of disclaimers then... rock on. I mean there are still scrappys letting people in to remove parts (although a rarity) so could be possible

Ive seen the ends on ebay.
I should imagine the dealers and TPS would want to sell you cables. I could be wrong.
Took me a minute but i eventually found the part number and ive got one coming.
Resetting the shift linkage is no way near as simple as it looks, the transmission kept getting stuck locked.

I have a set of solid bushes to put into mine at some point........might wait until summer (whenever that is)
Yeh it feels like a long winter already. Permanently wet roads aren't cool.

Ordered a refurb kit and new yellow spring for my diverter valve.
Luckily im working tomorrow so will be earning it rather than spending it!

Brakes aren't fixed.
They're definitely getting there, but nowhere near as firm as they were on Sunday. If I pump the brake a couple of times, they'll go hard, but that's not exactly what I'm after...
They got me down and up Ditchling Beacon though, so I'm not too worried - as long as they get the car through the MoT I can start doing a bit more work on them again.

Maybe you’re going too deep with this? My pedal goes hard after a few pumps but a few miles down the road she will be a bit softer again. Either that or mine are ****** too!! Saying that they did really good in the mot

You might be right - I'm at the point now where I can't actually remember what they felt like before all this nonsense, and obviously if they are rock hard when I put my foot down, all that's going to do is lock the brakes, surely?
The MoT will be the decider - I might find out they're spot on.

That's the next step - I've been replacing vacuum lines as and when, but there's no harm in replacing the brake ones next, given they're pretty cheap and straightforward.
I did notice the other week when I was running the tyre air compressor that there was a bit of a hiss coming from the engine bay. I don't know the engine so intimately that I'd know what that is or if it's normal, but the number of times I've read here about vacuum lines splitting due to age...

dont forget about the brake vac booster valve under the manifold (if the diesels have it?) These can fail. Although i removed all of that and just fed one line from the mani, i think @Sl1ced has done the same and to me it felt no different. Brakes are always harder after a few pumps, they stop me in a hurry when they need to
Yes mine only has the one booster from the inlet mani!! I did that pre mot following a guide here somewhere. I actually like he brakes on the car a lot. My wife has a 2015 jeep renegade and the brakes on that are as good as me trying to stop the car with my balls rubbing the road

Nothing done today, but some bits arrived from ebay so I can start to play around with Phase 1 of my aero project.
As everyone's having fun with brakes (mine are... not great, same as everyone elses I guess) I got asked by a guy at work "So when you getting rid of the ABS n installing a pedal box?"... thinking it may be later this year (the ABS is a bit crappy tbh)
