The rate that the exhaust gases are cooling down during their passage down the exhaust system teres no real need for 3" all the way back to the tail pipe.
For the above choices I'd go longlife 3".
I'd worry that 2.5" would be a bit too much of a step down.
I've got a Powerflow CAT back which is 2.75" with 6" x 4" tail pipe
Not the best but the cheapest.
Sounds great with 288BHP and a 3" deCAT'd DP
Build quality on mine is fine but its all down to the welder. If he's prudent it'll be a good job. Thanks very much for the input. How do you rate the build quality? I have a Powerflow centre right around the corner, the closest of them all but I hear the most 'horror' stories about them. I will give them a call later and see how competetive they are.
I don't know much about Longlife, but you have to consider is it worth saving £79 to gamble that you might not like the noise?
I'd go Longlife 3" with a 6" x 4" oval tail pipe and as little baffle as possible
Hayward and Scott, cannot recommend them enough. They did my hole 3" turbo back system and it works very well. They also did all my FMIC pipework and the quality of the work is amazing.
Pay for what you get! I have heard some of their exhaust systems and they are amazing. As far as I know, Powerflow and Longlife use the same process and will both give me what I want with the same tailpipes and the ability to choose how loud I want it. The only difference here is the price, saving a minimum of £79 if I go with Powerflow. It does beg the question however, how can Powerflow potentially be £110 cheaper?
I'd have no hesitation if the price wasn't so high and the distance wasn't so far for any potential warranty issues.

Ok it was a Peugeot 206 1.4, 2001 plate... BUT my Powerflow system was spot on when I had that done. No problems with it and it sounded great. I had the car for just under 2 years and it was running the Powerflow for around 17/18 months, I can't remember exactly sorry, but around that time..
I would give them a go to be perfectly honest. I did originally think LongLife as I've heard good things on here, but for the money Powerflow has to be a massive shout really. Especially as you can tailor what your after.
I went for the Milltek on the LCR this time as I wanted the exhaust/remap deal (but stage 2) AmD we're doing.
I would consider Powerflow or LongLife myself with no hesitation if I was filtering by price for sure. Hayward & Scott would no doubt do an amazing job, but if that is a stretch too much and the distance for any warranty issues, then give P'flow or LongLife a go.
Thanks for some positive feedback about Powerflow. You only ever hear the bad stories but for every one of them, there are probably 20 satisfied customers. The PF centre is also only 1 mile awayand the lifetime warranty is a draw, if they screw it up then they have to fix it although I'd prefer they do it right first time round.
Very subjective though? What I mean is you could get two systems one not as good quality build and the other very good. Both sound similar but 12months down the line there are problems. Both have lifetime warranty but is your time wasted worth £100 difference?Indeed you do but sometimes you pay over the odds for what you get. I will be chuffed to bits with whatever they fit I would imagine but if I can get the same smiles and satisfaction from something £100+ cheaper then it's a no brainer. If some extra cash comes my way in the enxt couple of weeks then I'll head over but I think perhaps this is just a tad too much for a cat-back system.

Personally I think you should go for the miltek system and stage 2 upgrade with AmD. Cant argue with the service from Miltek and AmD tbh.
Yeah pretty much. My mate at the same time a few years ago had a full Powerflow system from the same place as mine (RSR Tyres & Wheels, Bromley) on his Corsa B Sri, again it was only a 1.4, but he never maintained his car and it took a battering to be honest. Someone else has the car in our area now and the exhaust is still on it and sounding sweet! I saw it about 3 weeks ago and remember telling him about the sighting, lol.
So handy it's only that far away like you say. Not much to lose to be honest from going there mate, always got that lifetime warranty![]()
Well i've read it from start to finish! lol
Youve come a long way from the begining and the car looks in great shape mate
I can also put in a good word for RSR in bromley. I believe the guys name is Neil? (don't quote me, this was 3 years ago) But it was a full system on my Corsa B. I had the 2.0L redtop in the front, 4-2-1 manifold and straight through to the backbox. Pukka welding and as far as I know the car/exhaust is still being ragged around croydon somewhere
It also werent that expensive either. I was just like you when I went to get it done. So I asked him what he had booked in for the week. He told me he had an R33 skyline in over the weekend. So I popped along and watched him fit a straight through with a nice 4" jap slash back box. That made my mind up, because 1) he CAN weld! 2) he was happy for me to watch his work 3) he offered a decent price
Its your descision. But that was my experience. Theres no harm in asking to physically see their work as opposed to seeing photo's or magazine pics
