JP has proven the car has some pace, but everyone was slower than they were in testing at Brands Hatch the other week.

If it stays dry, and if they were all running with race trim during the testing phase last week. Then it should drop into the mid 48 secs mark during qualifying which is where the fastest were during testing.

Both Leon's only managed low 49secs during testing.

I fear the indy circuit is too small for the Leons

Hopefully I'm very wrong.

Speed Traps & Sectors from the Free Practice Sessions

Looking at the timings the Leon TDI is pretty damn swift on the quick bits, but it is falling down on hooking up a good lap at the moment.

Conditions described on live timing currently as Damp and Changeable. The SEAT Cupra's have just gone Red Flag which could indicate someone has binned it on a wet track.

BTCC Qualifying could be quite interesting now :)

GET IN!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D

Super Mat gets pole!

Just spoken to his wheel man on the mobile who said just watch him go tomorrow. My bet that Mat will be leading the championship after round 1 may come through...........

Love to know who binned it 1 minute from the end, because i think a few were on for a last lap dash.

Great result for Mat, but he'll need to watch his mirrors tomorrow i feel. They aren't mobile chicanes lining up behind him.

As you can see the Leon is the fastest car out there through the traps, but it's balance isn't great over the lap distance. So its not hooking up the sectors as well as quite a few cars.

Too right mate. Makes getting to bed at 3am then back up at 5.30am tomorrow worth while
