TBH it doesn't rub that muchStarted mocking up for a bigger heat shield, for those of you familiar with an LCR engine bay this one will sit to the left of the relay box by the TIP meaning the MAF will be on the "Cold side"

Pictures are a bit poor but the mk1 is sitting infront of the mk2
It needs a bit of trimming to get the fit right then it'll be cut out of the same material as the mk1 and then when I'm happy with the fit it'll be wrapped in carbon fibre.

That looks better than the first shield mate. Will look awesome when you use your carbon magic on it lol
The mk1 was based on a template of the Jabba shield so the size was pretty good
you used a ruler
obviously doing it properly compared to my "just cut and make it fit" effort

Fitted the template this morning
It fitted pretty well the first time, only very small adjustments were needed, once it was right I cut the pieces out of the board and glued them together
Then another test fit and some more minor adjustments
And finally cut and fitted the base
It's now all glued together, next stage will be to wrap it in carbon which will make it nice an strong.
Also whilst we were out today I noticed the oil temp was getting a bit high,
I wasn't really pushing it that hard, the temp sensor is in the oil filter housing unit and I'm running Fusch Titan race pro 5W40 whioch was changed in Feb this year.
I might look at getting an oil cooler soon

I'm running the same oil with a oil cooler and lapping the NurburgRing it's didn't go above 102C in 28 heat.
