I'm sure you could create something custom and carbon living in the right nook (under light switches) or below the aircon unit possibly??

I was looking at the cup holder but I dont think its big enough, The bit under the light switch is too low, I could do something wit the ash tray but again it's a bit low

I think it looks best in the vent personally.

I'm sure you can put your own touch on it mate ;)

Got up early this morning and made a start on getting the car ready for Players just incase I do go
The car was pretty clean so I did'nt go too mad at first and just gave it was good wash with Autobrite Banana gloss shampoo and a quick going over with Zaino Clay bar, then I stated with the DA using Megs 205 polish and finished off with Werkstat Jett sealeant

These photos have not been edited in any way :)

50/50
Left side hasnt been touched, right side has just been polished with Megs 205

With winter on it's way I decided to raise the front ride height a bit, it does look good low but it ruins the fun of driving the car, I tend do quite a bit of fast country road driving for fun at the weekend's and with the car being so low the under tray has been rubbing the road quite a lot.
Low ride height (shows) front 63cm Rear 65cm
New ride height (Winter) Front 64.5cm Rear 65cm
I wanted the raise the front a bit more but the off side adjuster for some reason wouldnt turn any higher, the thread probably needs cleaning up a bit, I'll see how it drives now and maybe raise it a bit more.

Whist I had it in the air I decided to take the wheels off and give them a proper clean and seal them up for winter

Before, the rears were much cleaner than the fronts

Autobrite direct Purple rain doing it's thing.

After, waxed with WheelWax and just make sure they were completely covered I sealed them with Werkstat Jett seleant

The brakes and arches also got the same treatment

I have been meaning to do this for ages, I was going to remove the rear disc splash guards and respray them but I thought as I had the polish and wax out I'd try polishing them first

I'm pretty happy with the results so :)

I'm going to see how it performs with the new ride height and probably order the rear axle centering plates soon

Awesome Daz. I never liked the complete slammed look on Leons as its not that functional :)

Got to love a bit of winter cleaning. Did the suspension clean up well? Which tar remover did you use?

I didn't really do anything to the coilover mate, I do need to though and maybe grease them up.
I didn't use a tar remover, just AB Purple rain

I've been working on a new bit of carbon for a while now and I finally finished it a couple of weeks ago.

First test fit

A bit more resin

I'm pretty happy with how well it's come out, I've made this from scratch just using a polished 1.8T Throttle Body Cover as a template :)

Love love love the throttle body cover finished in CF Darren! You're very talented with this stuff [B)] I'm looking forward to hearing about your progress in the months ahead... Nothing performance or handling based  I would have said big brakes but I would of considered them in those categories.... Keep going mate. One of my favourite cars on the forums :)

I only came round for a quick chat. Turn my back for a few moments and I find Daz rummaging through my bay when I look back!!!

I'm a bit torn on what path to take next at the moment
As I mentioned in a previous post I'm less than happy with the condition of paint work at the moment, the "fogging" on the bonnet has come back and as it stands really it needs a full front end respray, the rear bumper needs respraying and there are a few other little bits that need tidying up, as it's metallic paint this will probably result in a full respray, don't get me wrong the car looks very good and to the untrained eye most probably wouldn't notice it but I know it's not to the level I expect.
Another option I'm looking at is a full body vinyl wrap, I've got a colour in mind which I'll keep to myself for now, my main concerns with the wrap is how durable it's going to be and I don't want to go for something too lairy that wont suit the car or go out of "scene" within 1 season like the classic 3 spoke alloys.
I'll be going over to Legend Vehicle Specialists Ltd www.legendvs.com soon to discus my options and see what they think is best.

On the power side, the cars not felt right for a while, I've spoken to a couple of people about this and we think it could be the actuator so I need to look into these now, I know Forge do one but can anyone recommend any other ?
I'll be going over to AmD soon to do some more checks and test's and take it from there.

Now for the tough bit, given how much I'm expecting the body work to cost I'm weighing up whether it's worth doing it or selling up, I've had the car 7 years and in some ways I do fancy a change, this has got nothing to do with the fact that a lot of the "big" mk1 players are selling up, At the moment I cant afford to buy what I want so it wont be going any time soon but the thought is there :/
