• Hey Guest💡👉 We have recently launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
Not sure, I do have Seat connect subscription though. This update was different to ones I’ve had in the past, came with warnings about not leaving dogs in car etc whilst updating, not driving whilst updating.
You get them free without a subscription if its deemed you need it, deemed I guess is the same whether you have a subscription or not. You'll get it. You might even get a radio logo updates as well after but not always. The only thing you dont get is the navigation update OTA without a subscription but there is a thread on that with the Vag server links.

Includes June 2025 release:

Instructions on the top post of that thread.

In my case nothing has improved. I have the same Apple Carplay bug as always. At some exact points in the city I live, it justs disconnects and then reconnects after 20sec. Every single time.

Hi, I‘ve been waiting (im)patiently for the 1988 update to come to my car since it was announced, but so far, nothing!

It’s very frustrating as my screen has an infuriating bug that keeps happening (basically, it resets some - but not all - settings back to factory defaults, and keeps starting the tutorial randomly).

However, I notice that my hardware revision is much later than other posters here (it’s H67) so I don’t know if SEAT are delaying pushing out my update, as I have newer/different hardware. Does anyone know anything about this? Has anyone else with H67 received the 1988 update yet?

It’s one of the last of the pre-facelift Cupra Leon eHybrids. I’m in the UK, and I have an active “My Cupra” online subscription.

Thanks

Wait a few more days, it's probably released in waves

I suffer from the exact same bug as you, although not for about 6 weeks now which is a new record!

Also UK based and not received 1988 yet, not sure what my card hardware is though off the top of my head, but hopefully it'll be pushed to us soon

Me three, reset main screen tabs this week but kept radio favourites, it’s the randomness that gets me most

I could venture an answer. It shouldn't load into an inappropriate unit but saying that pass on whether it needs to go through an intermediate update to get there. Mib3 files are much more locked down unlike mib2 so it should be as is, not fiddled with. Issues can rest in other components of the cars system so upgrading the infotainment system alone may not always be the answer. Probably people who have done this update are better placed (and that person posted just above as I typed). Seat / Cupra have been busy making sure only dealers do firmware updates and they frown on people selling them these days.... the systems are like a pack of cards and can get knocked over.

I'd add that updating the infotainment system alone fixed none of the bugs in my '21 plate Leon, only module updates by the dealer resolved some of if the worst ones e.g. 5G popping, lane assist and climate control glitches.

Hello! Do you think that I can update my 2022 Leon with hardware H58 and quite old software 1896 directly to 1988 with the files provided here? Anyone done that or should I go with some intermediate version first. I think it should be fine but just double checking with community to see if anyone have any experience with this

I updated H56 first to 1969 since it was then the latest version and a few days ago updated to 1988 with the file provided in this thread. So can't give advice on if you could update directly but that path worked well for me.

So if anyone would wonder - it just works without any problems. During the drive I was able to update from 1896 directly to 1988 in ~20 minutes. Thanks for the files!
