*Update*

Well i'm back in the country briefly and lets just say..."WE'VE GOT A BLEEDER!". The LCR in my absence has turned on itself and broken things that I knew were on their way out anyway. I drove the car yesterday and the most awful creaking and knocking sound is coming from the N/S front, under closer inspection at my Dad's garage it seems that the N/S balljoint is completely dry and knackered causing the creaking, the N/S rear wishbone (front arm) bush has collapsed causing the knocking with both O/S parts close to the same condition albeit not making any noise yet. Also both front top mounts have died and when the wheel drops from the arch after jacking it up, makes a 'pop' noise as the shock drops a little. Everything at the rear (touch wood) seems fine but i'll replace the top mounts there when I lower it.

So Thursday it's in for two new front arms and top mounts, then off for some geometry = £££. I'm annoyed as this cash was set aside for a KW/Weitec suspension package which now has to pushed back to August and cat-back to September.

I guess all that sitting around it does has aloud the parts to essentially just sit there and rot :(. My fault I suppose.

Mother f*cker!

Cheers Martin, one thing I will say is that it goes like sh*t off a shovel :D but the fuel guage drops fast. Well, I have been driving a V8 3 tonne SUV in the States for the last few weeks but with fuel at $3 a gallon, the mpg wasn't a concern there.

I'm trying to juggle a house, car, social life and a planned trip to Ibiza in August and it's making things very tight.

I'll lever load luxuries on credit so I guess it'll all get done when it gets done :).

Yeah I'll be at AMD unless Ibiza falls on that date or working away in Modena, hopefully neither will. I wanted to get the cat-back on and hit the rollers but that looks unlikely right now. If you want to convoy Aimee, let me know :).

*Rant*

Oh FFS! The bl00dy parts supplier has sent the wrong parts! What part of me saying "This is for the Cupra R, not Cupra. So the parts you'll be sending will be for the Cupra R yes?!" did they not understand. I swear to god that these people just send bits out willy nilly in the hope that they'll fit, either that or they're all thick! So I called them back and some sheepish sounding f*ck wit says "ohhh sorry, those parts are dealer only", so when I asked why they told me they could supply them in the first place, all I get was "I don't know" in the slowest sounding tone ever, the kind that says I have 4 or 5 brain cells left, oh no wait, the 5th one just died.

Sorry people, I needed to vent and after all, this is my thread :D

Hope you're having a better day than me!

Thanks -J-cupra :)

And Tony, you're right although I have no idea why they saw fit to call the car colour, UFO Yellow :D

Now, just a quick update for all that are following. As you know from above, I needed some suspension work, this is all completed now and all parts were replaced for the more robust Audi TT/S3 parts. The car now feels fantastic and very well planted during acceleration and cornering, I would recommend doing this to anyone with wearing suspension components. I doubt that I'll have the car long enough for these bits to perish but if I do, I'll try the Superpro bushes next.

Also, some time ago I bought a 90degree elbow lambda sensor spacer for the race-cat. I have just got around to fitting this and would like to report that after about 60miles of driving, the car has accepted the emmissions and the EML light is now out.

Next up, suspension drop I hope if moving house leaves me a spare £400.

Hey JamJay, hope all is well? Is the Collinite wax still looking after the new paint?

Car is looking great as always. Sorry to hear of recent troubles. Good to hear that things are slowly getting back on track! If you do get coilovers, are you still looking to achieve a 50mm drop?

Cheers,

James :)
