The big yellow ball in the sky appeared today so I tried out some Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical.

I also dusted off the engine bay.

Keen photographer! i do like your pics :D . Will i ever see you driving it around town though?! Probably not!

As the weeks/mods go on, I am experimenting with my camera work although I will go for something arty once it's lowered & Stage 2 :D

Ummm, probably not. You're more likely to spot a Dodo on a week day but time it right and you'll find it in Tesco on a weekend, parked at the very most distant corner of the car park.

Just a little update anyhow, i'm stuck between the Weitec Ultra GT fixed drop 50/40mm suspension kit of the Hicon GT fixed damping coilover kit. I have money ready for the purchase but I just can't decided :(

I'll also point out that after the first 2wks of having the sports cat fitted, the EML popped on. I pooped myself in case it was something more major but thanks to Jamiebennett81, the code was confirmed to be the higher exhaust flow. We switched it off and 2wks later, it came back on, I thought I was going to have to live with it but this week, it's switched itself off (or the bulb blew :p). I've ordered an angled spacer from America this week anyway to keep the car happy in future, i'll post pics up of the fitting when it arrives.

Now suspension...any views? I think i'd be quite happy with the coilovers but it's the height adjusting on the rears that i'm a little confused about and also, how do it match them up so that the car is level at the front and back?

As you know mine is lowered on Ultra GT weitec and the drop is perfect . It's a very solid sporty ride, but unforgiving over potholes/ bumps etc. AmD supply the kit too... What's it on now? or is the suspension standard right now?

I guess I am just worried that the Ultra GT kit won't be stiff enough? I know that sounds mad but I want the car to feel tight with rather little body roll. My last car was Japanese and fitting coilovers before any other suspension mods transformed it completely, it was so stuck to the floor it was unreal, will a fixed drop package be similar? Your drop looks perfect Jay, which ever route I go, that ride height is what i'm after.

People talk of the Leon being about 5mm higher on the passenger side to cope with the drivers weight on LHD versions, however I haven't noticed that on yours at all, do you notice that?

I just have OE suspension right now, crashy and yuck!

Hi, Regarding the height difference i definitely noticed it on mine but it was no where near 5mm more like 1-2mm but with the fixed dampers it did reduce the gap somewhat. Think i posted exact figures in the project thread. As for suspension get the springs/dampers depending on comfort you want then beef it up with ARB's/bracing if you need more.

If your doing shows and the rest and the mileage is limited id go coilies. But if you love to drive it regularly and with the 5hite state of the roads at the moment i wouldnt as even my softish setup i feel like something might fall off/break in the big holes.

Pics further up look great, ive been trying with mine but silver is pretty plain and doesnt really take to exiting photos, kit car on the other hand makes a real impact :).

Jamjay... the ultra gt kit is so solid... i went over a pothole at 20mph and my exhaust bracket snapped, that's why it was hanging so low at that meet the other week! another reason why i purchased the miltek exhaust system... If your looking for a solid ride i would recommend, but to some people that isn't a good thing !

I have the eibach springs with std dampers and it's pretty solid, in fact i'd like a bit more comfort tbh. The neuspeed ARB helps stiffen things up a lot witout sacrificing too much comfort, and if you ask me the LCR is too big and heavy to strip out and stiffen up like a track car. You might find that by riding in other peoples cars at the meets you can reach a conclusion? Personally I don't think I'm going to do anything much more suspension wise unless I spend a fortune on the KW gas assisted coilies. It's an interesting dilemma and I will watch with interest!

If been playing with macro effects Adam, it take a few attempts to set it up but I like the results of the close-ups. I wouldn't mind an SLR to try and get some good exterior shots of the whole car.

Thanks Adam & Jay, you've almost made my mind up TBH...I think ;) but do you reckon that a fixed drop package like yours, with ARBs and strut braces will be just as good coilovers with the same additions? I keep saying to myself, get coilovers in case you go on the track but if I ever do, it won't be a regular thing so what's the point? There's £100 difference in the two kits anyway so that would be an extra £100 towards a cat-back.
