Thanks Martin. I had a spin with both setups on the RR day actually and there's not alot in it really, the coilovers felt a little tighter than the fixed drops but that's it. Either way, as soon as I drove mine again, it felt rather high and rolly in comparison.

I think perhaps the sensible option would be to go fixed drop, then if it becomes a track car one day of something that gets torn around quickly more frequently, go for coilovers.

This arrived a couple of weeks back:

Spacer.jpg

I hadn't bothered fitting it seeing as the EML was off, again but this weekend, it's come back. I'll be having a go at fitting it this weekend I hope.

I have also been trying to track down an alternative to Powerflex wishbone bushes due to their fire an stock shortage. After leaving it with my dad and his contacts, they seem sure that they can supply some Bilstein (or similar brand) uprated bushes for the LCR. I'm waiting for them to be delivered today (from Germany) so that we can compare them to the OE LCR bushes. The benefit of this, as my Dad is in 'the trade', is we don't have to pay for them unless they're right :). I'll keep this updated and if they fit/I think they're any good, i'll supply info on where to get them for yours. I am hoping that they're the right ones TBH because I can then order my suspension kit sooner!

Dan, you may shake you head at me, I didn't manage to get it done. I tried for ages but my spanner set has gone missing, i'm guessing I needed a 17mm or 19mm? I tried using some grips but I couldn't get the leverage with so little room to work under the car.

I'm fed up with waiting for Bilstein to come through with the bushes, the last ones they sent were for the Golf and that was 2wks ago now so this week I'll get the TT roadster ones on order and do the lambda spacer this coming weekend at my dad's garage. Give Swoosh225 a PM, I bought the spacer upon his recommendation and he reckons it's ay-ok :).

I love the PipeWerx DP! I'm at Stage 1 but the car feels alot different even without the mapping to suit. It's pulls harder, accelerates quicker and feels less hesitant through all revs, the engine just feels alot less restricted. Very good upgrade :)

So you're at Stage 2 without a DP? You should notice a nice little difference once you've removed the OE one, it's not very efficient in comparison.

Haha not quite :p. It was a real PITA, I guess because it gets so hot, it's a little stuck in there but im determined to do it along with the suspension in time for the Bromley show in early June. I think there's a spare ticket going for it if you fancy showing yours off there? You can then rip my cr@p mechanics skills to shreds in person.

Sorry to hear that Dan. When she's better we'll have to meet up for some pics perhaps, i'm sure D.K will be up for that too.

Well i'd like to apologise for the lack of mods over the last 2months everyone but trust me, it's not my fault. So anyway, all i've been able to do is keep on top of the cleaning and try out some AG SRP a couple of weeks back.

Cheers dude. I've been undecided about suspension for ages but I think -50mm is what I'll be happy with, judging by other members pictures. I only use it about 2days a week for social trips so I should be ok, if not I'll purchase some -40mm or -30mm springs at a later date and raise it. I'd go with coilovers but I don't think I could live with suspension that stiff again :D

cool beans, I've just put the H&R cup kit on the Polo and it's pretty comfy, I think they do one for the Leon too so it might be worth a try. I think Maz (Jonjay) had it on his FR and liked it, maybe ask him he's done the lot! Good luck with it mate.

Cars looking great jamjay, i said id never lower my car as it scrapes slightly on certain humps but now im undecided because lowered they look so much better, id say go for it.

JamJay

I will indeed DJ :D. From experience of lowering other cars, it's not normally the lower ride height that's been the problem, it's the rebound of the shock absorber that causes it to hit the ground so with a stiffer spring, it'll about even out I think. Still, I won't be able to tackle multi-story car parks but I can't as it is anyway.

Just a recent picture from the past weekend at The Bromley Pageant. Nothing else new I'm afraid but it's in for TT wishbone bushes and Weitec/KW -50mm suspension kit at the end of the month :)

Good choice on the suspension kit Jay you wont be disappointed, i love mine not crashy or anything and really like the stance the car has now.
