Right'o, update. I've been searching loads of local car forums, Subaru, Supra etc etc and they all recommend a Longlife branch on the outskirts of London/Croydon so I've just made a booking with them for a Full Sport system. Price comes in at just over £400 for a 3" system fitted but that's still cheaper than Milltek so I am happy. The drawback is that they can't fit me in until 19th March but as I'm on American payroll, I get paid 2wkly so it falls the day after a pay day which softens the blow. I'm also booked into the other place where I had the misfortunate experience but I will cancel that despite it being 2wks earlier for fitting, I just feel that I can't trust them.

My other option is the Piper cat-back system which looks like what I'm after sound and pipe/silencer design wise but it's a 2.5" system sadly.

Yup, I check this after I typed it.
I was sure it was built and sold as a true 3" design, not too worry.
They have a bit of a bad rep now anyway so would stay clear

It's definitely a case of 'they don't make them like they used to'

Mine was spot on and sounded awesome. No build quality/fitting issues at all. Also my friend Martin on here still has his running fine on his stage 2 LCR.

I do prefer the sound, but it's all gone pete tong at Piper since me and Martin bought the original system.

Shame really as I loved the sound. I do have some video's of it, the quality isn't great but you can tell it's not a Milltek....

Would love to hear these videos Tom, please post up, I don't mind them being in here :).

They are on my PS3's HDD as I was trying to free up space on my pc. I'll get them on my external and see if I can upload them in a bit.

...On 2nd thoughts I'm going to check my photobucket now as they may be in there still..

EDIT, just checked and they are 2 bad quality video's I have left on there. I will post the links below though.

Note, they are just on a warmed up idle blip with the throttle..

Thanks Tom, sounds nice. Was that cat-back or turbo-back? Drive-by vids would be niiiice ;).

I am going to chop in the LCR at the of the year so it has a little while with me yet and I'd like to hit Stage 2 and see if that tempts me to stay with it. A friend is willing to buy it at a very good price or alternately my GF will take it from me and we'll keep it in the 'family', who knows. If money permits then I'll take it off the road and put some serious work into it.

if I can suggest a route ahead based on my experiences.
I wouldn't make a track car out of a LCR again if I could sell it.
The pieces are so expensive and the certain companys that do uprated bits charge a fortune compared to other more popular marques.

Do you mean uprated pieces big W? or just in general? I was always under impression cause its VAG parts bin things were cheap compared to Jap OEM parts or Merc / BMW

Jay, as promised! Some drive by video's and a couple of others I found.

PLEASE EXCUSE THE TERRIBLE CAM THESE WE'RE FILMED ON. I really wish I'd have used something better now the car has gone.

You can tell it's alot louder than a Milltek and very meaty under boost.

It did rock. And I will tell you now, that I was going to buy another one for my current LCR had there not been so much bad press about them now and how they have ended up. Quality doubts put me off, as the full system is obviously over a grand it's a big investment to make.

Like I said, it's a shame as this was a fantastic sounding exhaust on my black LCR. I'm giving my Milltek a couple of months more yet to fully soot up, but depending how money goes, I'd consider getting it made louder. So I'm keen to see what route you take and how it turns out whichever you choose.
