Sound like a very simple mod with contrasting out comes! Confused:shrug:!?!? Could it be some folks like the noise it makes and some don't??? I'll give it a go at the weekend. Do any tuners recommend doing this?
Still surprised people put a T piece into the FPR for there boost gauges surly the DV to N249/inlet manifold is safer?

Fair enough but I think I'll go the no risk way.
I'm interested to see if this makes any difference.

I originally went straight from the inlet mani (where the N249 used to connect to) to the DV, using a 4mm internal diameter silicone vacuum hose. When I noticed it made a funny noise going from part boost to off boost I wondered if maybe the silicone hose was collapsing under vacuum so I undid the bypass, connecting the 4mm hose to the N249 and using a piece of 5mm hose to go from N249 to the DV.

I decided to try it again so used an elbow joint to connect the 4mm hose to the 5mm hose but it still makes the same noise. Still not sure the car feels any better with the bypass in place either. I've read threads where people have said their car doesn't like the bypass, maybe mine is just one of those. Apart from a slightly worrying noise when dumping at part revs I didn't notice things were any better with the bypass so I think I'll just put it back.

One other thing on my car, I'm not using the 007p Forge valve, I've got the new DV008. I'll try my old 007p and see if the same noise happens with the bypass.

Lee, did you blank off the second nipple on the intake mani since you T'd into the FPR feed for your bypass?

The LC as more feeds i just T'd into that as it was at the end of the inlet.
I still have the N249 fitted, never got round to removing it.

Hmm ok, got a T-piece kicking around somewhere, maybe I'll try that. So is your vac feed from the manifold to the N249 still in place, yeah? Just disconnected the hose from the 249 to the DV?

OK cool, cheers. I'll have a play about at the weekend and see if I can make it work any better.

OK I tried the 007p valve, it makes the same "whip-crack" noise on dumping from part throttle/boost. Haven't tried the "T into FPR feed" method yet - Lee, what did you use to block off the original DV hose?

Might also try a larger diameter hose joiner for Robbie's method, don't think mine is as much as 5mm. Wondered if that was causing a restriction.

Did a quick log using Torque app for Android last night - my boost is peaking about 1.3bar, sustaining at 1.0 - 1.1. That's on stock map with the N249 bypassed. That sound about right or not?

have you done this before?
