hahaha tbh ive still not done it, had the stuff sitting there n not bothered lol, ive been reading on to see if a should remove the thing on top of the 4th coil pack or just leave it, or leave it plugged in or summit, il need to get the finger out lol plus i only got 1m or silicon hose and i dont know if its gonna be long enough

have you done this before?

I done it on my Ibiza but not on the LCR yet. I really dont wanna muck about with things if its not going to make any noticable difference and maybe bring on the EML.

Was going to have a go at this today on my LCR but with all the different methods and conflicting opinions i'm going to give it a miss. Surely there must be a thread somewhere with facts and figures laid out to avoid all this??

I didn't even use new hose, just popped the 2 tubes off the N249 and joined then together with a connector, what could be simpler.

Before and after graphs are linked on the first page and there is only one Method for the LCR.

You could do it a few ways but the end result is effectively the same. You can put a pipe from the mani to the DV direct, or blank off the mani and T into the FPR vac pipe. Or you could leave the mani to N249 pipe, cap off the N249 to DV feed and then T into the FPR pipe like Lee has done. All end in pretty much the same thing tho.

Robbie, did you notice a difference in the DV sound after your bypass?

Yep, looks like the N249 is removed altogether, or disconnected and hidden away. You can remove the black plastic vacuum reservoir tank, the one at the right hand side of the engine block at the top, it won't have any use now.

And turn your oil filler cap the right way round while you're at it ;)

That's an LC 180 engine, not LCR ;) and agreed on the oil cap, simple things ;) lol

I done this and have ran it for a good month or so, no major differences, it might pickup slightly better and the turbo/diverter valve defo sounds a lot crisper now. No faults codes i know of and no other issues.

if nout else I like the sounds its making now so i'm pretty happy with it

great guide by the way, made it really easy to understand

Tried this on my car last week and have noticed the difference. Better sound coming from the DV and better response.

Great guide. Thanks

You can get away with just the connector by removing the hose from the manifold to the N249 and the one from N249 to the DV and hooking them together. Works fine with Forge valves, I've had the bypass on both my 007p and 008.

i think the best way is to fit a hose straight from the manifold to the DV, so dont use the metal pipes and other connectors, just one hose all the way, that is what i have done on my LC.

allan can i see a quick pic of what you did ??

also might just do what 8bit is saying for ease :S

this is the underside of a spare LCR manifold on the picture, this way i get better picture. you can see the 2 small hoses on the left. i have one of those hoses running to my recirculating diverter valve (the other hose is on my car running to the FPR).

here you can see my APR R1 recirculating diverter valve with hose coming from the manifold

and it is one hose without any other connections, from the manifold all the way to the diverter valve. i just used small black cable ties to fit the hose around the engine bay.

if it is any help i also did the N112 delete (SAI pump and SAI combi valve), and removed all the hoses and small metal vacuum pipes.
