Updating the inbuilt Mib2 Satnav / Mib2 tricks and Mib1

Hi I was having problems doing the update (Mib2) I downloaded the Europe 1 update and copied the Overall file into the new EEC directory but it wouldn't work. The problem was I did this on my desktop PC and when I looked at the files they were classified as a Nero Discspan Compilation ! I don't think my car infotainment system runs Nero lol. I did everything again on my laptop (the download and work around) did the long press reset in the car and went to navigation. It took about 10 seconds and the maps were there!
So guys make sure the NEW files are nds and your computer hasn't defaulted them to something else when you unpack the zip files.

I'm not home at the minute hence the Irish flag will allow those with mib1 with success to cross check. Gapping looks a bit big on the system name.
As long as you stick to notepad for edits. 7zip etc
Probably not 7zip to unpack ?. 7zip is recommended one by Vag. The inbuilt file manager one definitely messes up mib3 files. Also slow
.Yes it was 7zip I downloaded it right at the start following advice on here (probably from you). Winzip won't unzip them
I tried the procedure multiple times and it didn’t work, then I guessed I must have an MIB 2 High unit since nothing was working.
Tried the procedure for MIB 2 Standard again and the result was the same with the only difference that it started loading in the beginning and then gave up again. (Tried both the OVERALL.NDS from the original card and the one uploaded on the forum)

I had someone update their 7zip when they were having problems once. That fixed it for them since Vag do change their process.
@ilovezed that one is very much for @East Yorkshire Retrofits since your unit is a mib2 standard as confirmed but not running standard firmware, why you were told not to update it. It's been modified to work with any SD card not a CID based one as I understand it and it won't be fussy about the overall.nds so will work with updates without the workaround stages.
Probably a presentation issue of the maps, directories etc to it, one back to our friends in East Yorkshire. Perhaps they can send you an SD card pre set up for it ?... to get you working.

You were right about the gapping, not sure how that happened as I copied and pasted, might have hit space at some point. Anyway its still saying 'loading navigation' forever when I put the card in.
Sorry for waisting your time. I had already contacted them before that, but we could not come to a solution, so I decided to try on the forum.

No it will just be card presentation issue on how it seeing the files / unzipped. 4096 is the cluster size for mib2 standard. Some of the problems are where the card is reformated and that gets changed.

Please please please, can someone who has updated their MIB1 maps and have it working paste me a copy of their DBinfo file so I can be sure what the format should look like? I have compared the info file from the downloaded P106_N60S3MIBS2_EU_NT file to the one on my MIB1 card and the spacing is different on the part numbers and system name. I want to know what it should look like to get it working, thanks.
If you look at @Daz3d posts, he did post up some of his files subsequently which you can check. Original map file etc. When someone else was having issues and had lost their original copy.... that's if they didn't take it of mega to get some space back.
We also placed a trick where you can go back to previous releases, use that then update on that. For that you need to place where your release is against others. So @Daz3d release would work if it was after yours then. Test then use the workaround. That got the other one working.
