Arosaracer had a Magnex on his old LCR, dont think he had any problems with it but they had gone bust the last I heard.

Jay, as promised! Some drive by video's and a couple of others I found.

PLEASE EXCUSE THE TERRIBLE CAM THESE WE'RE FILMED ON. I really wish I'd have used something better now the car has gone.

You can tell it's alot louder than a Milltek and very meaty under boost.

It did rock. And I will tell you now, that I was going to buy another one for my current LCR had there not been so much bad press about them now and how they have ended up. Quality doubts put me off, as the full system is obviously over a grand it's a big investment to make.

Like I said, it's a shame as this was a fantastic sounding exhaust on my black LCR. I'm giving my Milltek a couple of months more yet to fully soot up, but depending how money goes, I'd consider getting it made louder. So I'm keen to see what route you take and how it turns out whichever you choose.

Agree mate, i have a piper and it sounds the nutts dont think il change it, only a cat back but best one ive heard, just need a dp and sports cat now :)

Thanks Tom, that sounds very loud indeed and more what I'm looking for, many pops and bangs from that?

I thought that Magnex had also gone too but they're up and running, even with a MK2 Focus RS system so they're clearly pumping money into R&D. They offer a system for the LCR on their website but it's double the price with a 4" round tail pipe, not totally sure how Venom have what they are advertising, perhaps old stock.

Yes it would definitely pop Jay, not so much bang though like a de-cat would. Maybe if I had gone de-cat it would have done, and also been alot cheaper!

I thought Magnex had gone bust, but a MK2 RS system shows otherwise then :)

You'd be suprised just how free flowing a sports-cat is, there's little difference between it and decat.

Yeah very little difference in flow terms, people assume it flows more but I think the recent RR day proves otherwise comparing mine and Brad's which has a 3" decat.

Tom this cannot be true.
A De CAT'd system must flow more than one with a race CAT.
It's physically not possible for a baffled system (even very slight baffles) to flow more than and open ended system.
There must be other issues effecting this

Yeah I know what your saying.... but I just don't think the difference is that great to warrant the MOT hassle myself.

I don't think he meant that a race-cat flows more but his figures prove (collectively with everything else) that the race-cat isn;t hold things back too much :). You're right, no possible way that a Cat would flow more than just straight pipe but the difference is marginal and for the ease of motoring legally, it's a must. I think bhp difference is about 2bhp IIRC but that depends on application.

Me neither.
i've got a De CAT and wished I'd just spent the extra cash on the race CAT.
I thought my car was going to be off the road and trailered by April but it seems not, not this year anyway.

Should have made myself clearer with initial comment sorry.
I was tempted by de-cat by the price and they work well on these cars, I just couldn't be bothered with the MOT drama, lol.

So glad you didn't go with RSR in redhill. We almost kicked off with them big time, such arrogant twats down there. Anyway moving on. You thought about heading to Elite Direct? They now do Longlife exhaust systems.

Each day I think about it, the happier I am that I didn't follow it through with them. What was your experience with them?

I used to deal with Elite, were always good for tyres but had no idea that they'd branched into modifying, I'll check them out :). Thanks.

They did a system on my mates Astra. We went there and he asked for it to be as loud as possible (note we were in our teens hence the louder the better option) lol They did the exhaust and we drove back and he was very pleased with it. About 2 days later the exhaust just went totally quiet and the car was not performing for $hit. We took it back just to get them to look at it and see whats up. They got very sarcastic and basically told us to buzz off. They didn't want to look at it or anything so as you can imagine it turn't ugly. We complained directly to powerflow who came down on them like a tonne of bricks and got it sorted for him at the Bromley branch. It was the attitude which got to us, we simply went back to get it checked to ensure all was fine, not end up in a kick off

They sound like a nice bunch but to be fair I had heard similar things about them before, I just had hoped that the positive reviews they had gotten were how they operated now but I get the feeling not. The Longlife dealership that I've chosen seems to get rave reviews all over the local scene so I am optomistic about them...we shall see what happens :)
