i bet you were a bit nervous for your splitter when Will was lowering the front end into the rollers
Haha I was a bit shocked when I came out an saw it!
nice figures there, especially the torque!
looking at your graph....when driving hard so long as you keep the revs over 2750rpm the torque will be under the 300 ft/lb threshold of the clutch..... to be safe keep the revs over 300rpm and you'll not need to replace your clutch
you say that but looking at the graph (again).......between 2750 rpm and 4250rpm you are in the peak BHP range between 155 and 170 bhp whilst still between
290 ft/lbs and 230 ft/lbs.......thats still a great power band to have under your right foot
this is why having a graph printout is so useful as you can tell when is best to change gear etc so you can best utilise your cars power! as you can see there's no point in accelerating past 4250rpm as the bhp and torque tail off
if you have a look at the Jan 09 graph clicky you'll see (just, didn't scan to well) that my optimum power band is between 3000 and 4000rpm (170 - 200 bhp & 300 - 270 ft/lbs)......although i do have 330 ft/lbs at 2500rpm its only ~155bhp....it'll kill my standard clutch....yes i am still on the standard clutch!!!!!!
if you use your graph to your advantage, you'll save your clutch!
Will, liking the new graph printouts, a lot more detailed from when i came to your rolling road day early in the year! i'll keep an eye out for your next RR day
