The rear beam is my current project as well, although it's been off a week or so i managed to fully strip it down and remove the bushes yesterday.
Just need to chase up the shot blasting company now.

Quick question, since getting my sport cat fitted my O2 sensor has still got the spacer in, no EML. Is it worth taking it out or will it not affect any fuelling?

I'd be inclined to try it without the spacer so that it's getting a more accurate reading although it's likely to push the emissions up a bit.
If the EML light stays off then see how it goes at MOT time.

Bit of diagnostics today...Got the dreaded P1297 code. Been in limp mode all week, had a look around and no pipes obviously popped off or leaking, Wastegate pipe still on, going to inspect the pancake pipe, and put my standard DV on for now. Gonna clean some sensors and see what happens.

Also had P0571 code but have no idea why that showed up.

Well I treated myself and the car to a new key, done by graig nettleton, very happy I can now open boot with a button wished it popped slightly but not going down boot popper route.

Bought a small pot of leather dye for my steering wheel and gear knob

Very happy with the result.
It looked crap with the red showing through and was letting the car down.

Only issue i have now is the red ring at the top of the wheel is cream crackered so will be looking for a new insert for that at some point.

Today i replaced coils for 4x Beru coils since one was dead after a heavy rain so i replaced all and 4x bosch copper with 4 electrodes (standard ones)

Now car steering wheel is calm and steady on idle, it was kinda shaking before the spark plug change. Old plugs were ngk iridium but they were totalky worn out

Spent another day hunting for boost leaks on every pipe possible. Car goes in limp mode daily thanks to a recurring P1297 code (turbo - throttle pressure drop).

Checked:

All intercooler>turbo hoses
TIP
PCV system
Brake Servo
Throttle body
DV
Boost Gauge
N75 hoses

Nothing that would raise any red flags

Need to find somewhere in essex that can smoke test it. Other than that its trying a maf or a n75

One thing to add, and its important haha

Car wont boost and work after 3100rpm it looses spark because 4 electrode sparks are not good for stg2 map so today in buying BCPR7ES NGK to solve this problem.
