Today my Leon gets a well deserved rest.
Had to be pressed into daily service for the past 4 weeks while the “reliable” Volvo V70 was away having some major engine surgery done.
As usual the Leon did everything it needed to do. Yes it’s a bumpy ride and Yes the kids were squashed in the back but Its been nice to have a change for a bit.
It now needs a good wash and hoover before it goes off on its holidays to stay on my parents drive while we have an extension built.
Not risking leaving it on our drive with deliveries, skips and scaffolding arriving soon. Lol

After spending a while trying to remember how I got the bonnet release handle off (there are two screws, not one) I finally got this installed. Seriously, this has bothered me so much for years, and I'm so happy I've got a replacement in there.
One of these days I'll get round to putting the new pedals in too.
You can see how cracked the old one was. How many extra horsepower do you think this'll make?

I still got the old set I took out and master cylinder so you could referb them and then fit them to yours
You know what - that might be what I need. Not so much the pedals, but the master cylinder. Still having trouble with my brakes and if it turns out to be the master cylinder seals, I'd prefer to rebuild and bolt the replacement straight on... I'm seeing a VAG specialist on Tuesday for the diagnosis so will keep you posted...
In other news, I finally got some of these ordered. They're going for £21.99 on eBay from Euros, so will fit them when I pull the undertray off to do the Mr Muscle turbo clean. Any recommendations on whether to do the lower engine mount one or the insert at the same time? The lower engine mount looks like it can be a pain to do if you haven't got something to press it in with - does it make a difference? The insert looks much more straightforward but of course, I have no idea which one I need...
The worst bit about the dog one mount is taking it off - the bolts connected to the chassis tend to snap if your not careful

After a problem with wiring I had to replace my light switch back to standard 
I’ve had auto headlights for a couple of years but had problems with the dimmer - I’d used the switch surround from mk5 golf - but today decided to make the larger auto switch fit into the standard surround.
A few passes with my dremel seen it slide in

Well, that's given me the fear. Luckily the car's always had the undertray on, which might just have kept things intact under there, and I haven't seen much in the way of corrosion when I've been under it either. Fingers crossed if I just soak it in PlusGas before I do it, they'll all come out OK. That said, I have heard stories about people just touching the bolts with a socket and they sheer off...
I'll be doing the PlusGas, heat, wiggle back and forth, tighten and untighten, more PlusGas, more heat method then.
Replaced front suspension top mounts, really should have done them when I fitted the coilovers ?
Those blades clear the edge protector nicely - did you cut the nearside one down or is it a different size? I've had those wipers for years and the blades need replacing, but I've heard that if you buy shorter ones, they still foul on the side.
Thanks and yes I cut them down about an inch, I think you have to do this sadly but I have found some 18 inch ones on ebay that are side pins that are for the polo so maybe they will work with no cutting needed as the ns is 18 inch when i measured it, but these arms look so much more tidy can't believe the price they are new, and these were in mint condition.
