Hmm... something missing though? Think reds quite a bold colour and because the cars standard looking, it maybe needs new wheels to brave the colour!? Maybe do the wheels the same red, that'll be brave!

Well wheels are part of the grand plan :)

Like you say either the same red or something with a red lip perhaps.

I'm also considering a vinyl stripe of some sort along the bonnet/roof, maybe two thin stripes offset to one side.

Just re-de-badged the boot, the FR badge really didn't look that good so now it's just the TDI badge

Not got them on the car yet because I'm waiting for locking bolts, which I should be getting next week some time. I did however have a trial fit and they look awesome!!! Can't wait to get all four on the car now!

Re: gav_FR's MkI Leon FR TDI - Black with a touch of red - New wheels page 3 :)

Small update, I've just fitted a set of Bosch Aerotwin retro-fit wiper blades to my car, £17 off eBay, and I think they look great! Much cheaper than buying the full wiper arm conversion.

The blades are 21" and 19". I compared them to the standard wipers and the lengths were more or less the same. The only thing is the passenger side wiper doesn't quite sit flat on the 2-3" of the screen near the tax disc but once they move from the rest position it makes full contact with the screen.

Standard wipers:

Gav, the wipers look nice actually. Been thinking of going with the aerotwins on standard arms - but theres a comparison pic that LEE69 always brings up in wiper threads that puts me off, as it looks like the standard arms sit up too much - but yours seem to sit nicely. I'll try and did ig up for comparison.

But looks good. Are you able to take the blade cap off the end and trim and inch off then pop the cap back on? Or is that not possible?

I believe this is the thread with the pictures you're on about ;) I think those must not be Bosch wipers because they do look like they sit higher. Get yourself a set of AeroTwins, you won't be disappointed!

I'm not sure about trimming them as I haven't tried, but to be honest there isn't the need to trim them as they are more or less the same length as the standards, and once the wiper passes the tax disc area they make full contact. It's only the end 2-3" of the passenger side wiper that is lifted slightly when in the rest position.

Liking the wheels, but it does need a drop!!

I have those blades on my ibiza, so much better than teh cheap ebay jobbies!!

Yeah a drop is next on the list :)
